Year 2 Numeracy - The Australian National Curriculum and NAPLAN

The Australian National Curriculum indicates the achievement standards required by students at the
end of each year. Since the NAPLAN tests are held in May each year, it is useful to look at the achievement standards for the year below each NAPLAN year. We will start with Year 2.

Year 2 Mathematics - Achievement Standards - ANC (draft) - alphabetical

Compare areas by direct comparison
Compare capacities using informal units and familiar metric units
Compare lengths using informal units and familiar metric units
Compare masses using informal units and familiar metric units
Describe and connect patterns of twos, fives and tens
Describe events produced by simple chance devices
Identify and describe properties of familiar shapes and objects
Model everyday simple functions
Partition numbers into units of tens and ones
Recognise patterns in units of 10 and 100
Represent collections larger than 100
Solve multiplicative problems
Understand different ways of representing data
Understand the sequence of numbers to 130
Use simple maps
Visualise and represent familiar shapes and objects
